'Press Pass'... my first photo concert as a photographer.

'Press Pass'...  words as a photographer I'd always thought were so cool, to be that close to the action be it a concert, a race, an interview...

Thanks to a friend of mine David Herron, I got a pass for a rock gig at Nottingham Rock City, an awesome venue where I have been many times before as a fan.  This one was for two well known bands CrashDiet and Jettblack, I was both incredibly excited and somewhat nervous at the same time.

I had read magazines and internet articles about what settings to use and followed them, roughly 1/125 or 1/160 sec and ISO around 1600 or even higher.  I was fortunate to be so close so I used my 35mm f1.8g lens and was happy with how it performed in low light.
These are some of my photos from the night...  Rock on!

The following are of Jettblack...

spring // Frühling

...in case you hadn't guessed. Among all seasons, the days when magnolia trees are in full blossom are probably the best. Not exactly a huge flower enthusiast, these blossoms and plants keep me going for hours. Some more spring impressions in addition though;).

Sorry it is almost only magnolia;)

'Water and wood'...

On Sunday the conditions were looking a bit overcast, some fog, cloudy, grey...  I was wanting to take my camera out but was in two minds, in the end I went to Shipley Country Park (a place I have photographed often), in Ilkeston.  It is only ten minutes from me but spreads out a long way and has so many different opportunities for photos.

Maybe it was the cloud, the fog... I'm not sure but I enjoyed it so much and I'm so glad I went now, different conditions, spring around the corner lending touches of colour... always something to photograph :-)

The darkness in nature // Die Dunkelheit der Natur

Being so very busy writing and correcting at the moment (tt-schreibservice.de), this post is about some older shots from 2011 and 2012 and due to our current lack of light and sun, the darkness of nature. Inspired by so many rather dark and gloomy photographs via flickr and other platforms that deal not with the impeccable, shiny and light way of nature and subjects related to it, this post concentrates on its darker side.

But spring is coming. Soon.
Aber der Frühling kommt. Bald.
